Police arrest Kalihi man, 19, in connection with stabbing

Advertiser Staff

A 19-year-old Kalihi man was arrested late Monday in connection with a stabbing Sunday night in Kalihi.

Lance C. Moaila was booked at the Kalihi police substation at 11 p.m. Monday on one count of second-degree attempted murder. He remained in police custody yesterday pending charges.

Moaila is a suspect in the stabbing of a 32-year-old man who police said tried to break up a fight between Moaila and another person. Police said the two were fighting at about 9:45 p.m. Sunday when the victim tried to intervene.

The suspect turned on the older man and stabbed him, police said. The victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition, but his condition later improved to serious condition.
