Forget those reports that Swedish supergroup ABBA will be reuniting to cover Michael Jackson's sold-out concert dates.

"No one has even asked us, and if they asked us they would have 'no' as an answer, because (Jackson's concerts were) going to happen in a week," said Benny Andersson, who co-wrote ABBA hits like "Dancing Queen" and "Take a Chance on Me" with Bjorn Ulvaeus.

Jackson died while preparing for a run of 50 shows at the O2 arena in London, set to kick off July 13.

There had been speculation that ABBA might reunite to fill the vacancy at one of London's biggest and most important music venues. AEG Live chief David Campbell was quoted in the Sun newspaper as saying, "There's a little foursome out in Sweden we keep talking to."

If so, that foursome wasn't Andersson, Ulvaeus, Agnetha Faltskog and Annifrid Lyngstad, who unofficially disbanded in 1982. Millions of fans have been clamoring for a reunion ever since.

MADONNA TO HONOR KING OF POP IN CONCERT

Madonna is paying tribute to Michael Jackson in the same arena where he was to stage his great comeback.

The superstar is preparing a special part of her concert today at O2 arena in London. Madonna publicist Liz Rosenberg says she is going to unveil a special choreographed dance in honor of Jackson.

INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL KICKS OFF

The 44th International Film Festival opened yesterday in the Czech Republic with a week of events planned, including an award for French actress Isabelle Huppert and a world premiere by Milos Forman.

The festival in the spa resort of Karlovy Vary features 220 movies this year, including Czech-born Forman's "A Walk Worthwhile," which the Oscar-winning director adapted from a 2007 staging of a 1960s Czech musical.

Tomorrow, Huppert is to receive the Crystal Globe award for her outstanding contribution to world cinema. American screen legend Robert de Niro received the prize last year.

HUMANS NO MATCH FOR ELEPHANT APPETITES

In the fight of pachyderms vs. people — the pachyderms now have the upper trunk.

Three circus elephants scored a decisive victory over three human competitive eaters at a cross-species eating contest yesterday, chomping down on 505 hot dog buns in six minutes. The humans forced down only 143 buns in the bout at Brooklyn's Coney Island.

The elephants, Bunny, Susie and Minnie, ate at what appeared to be a leisurely pace from behind a table piled high with buns. Their human competitors, Eric "Badlands" Booker, Juliet Lee and Tim "Gravy" Brown, chowed down in preparation for today's annual Fourth of July hot dog eating contest.
