Police have reopened Kaumualiçi Highway in çEleçele, following a fatal traffic accident tat 10:40 a.m. today.

The road was reopened at 2:30 p.m. The two-car accident occurred near the junction of Kaumualiçi Highway and Halewili Road. One man, a 24-year-old Lihue resident, died and two others were taken to Kauçi Veterans' Memorial Hospital. The dead man's identity was not released, pending notification of next of kin.
The driver of the other vehicle involved in the accident was not injured. There were no passengers in his vehicle.
