Taxpayer rally scheduled for Tuesday
A group calling itself Overtaxed Hawaiçi plans to rally Tuesday to protest new taxes and fees that would be generated by legislative overrides of Gov. Linda Lingle's recent vetoes.
Sign-waving is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. with a rally to follow at 5 p.m.
The organization's web site said the rally was planned to give taxpayers a voice in advance of veto overrides that could could be considered on Wednesday. Lingle has until Monday to act on pending legislation.
