Haili's, a local favorite for Hawaiian food, opened Saturday in a new location across the street from its longtime home at the Ward Farmers' Market.

The new spot has a different look and concept: It's an outdoor cafe called Haili's Backyard Luau, a lunch wagon surrounded by tables and umbrellas and offering, along with the accustomed traditional foods, Hawaiian entertainment and some new dishes.
For the occasion, the Haili family created a new dessert, Banana ala Haili's — a grilled banana topped with vanilla ice cream, chocolate sauce and macamadia nuts.
The business will continue its catering operation and to-go sales of Hawaiian dishes.
