Clean and freshen around home

Advertiser Staff

Salt can work wonders. A few ideas:

Remove stains from coffeepots with 4 teaspoons of salt, 1 cup crushed ice and 1 tablespoon water. Swirl and rinse.

Restore shine in glass vases with a vinegar and salt paste. Scrub and rinse.

Pour salt on egg spills (wipe with a paper towel) or on cotton fabric wine stains (let salt absorb liquid, soak item in cold water for a half hour and wash).

Cut an orange in half, remove pulp and fill peel with salt to freshen air.

'THE BACHELORETTE'

ROSE CEREMONY GOES TO MAUI

Tonight's episode of "The Bachelorette" has a Maui backdrop as Jillian Harris takes the final three there for a romantic getaway.

The two-hour episode starts at 7 p.m. on ABC and will feature scenic footage of Maui's west side as the reality show heads into Ka'anapali resorts.

Harris and the three remaining bachelors — Ed, Kiptyn, and Reid — will go on dates that include a lu'au, activities at Kapalua Resort and a helicopter tour leading up to the Rose Ceremony at Maui's Olowalu Plantation House.
