The National Weather Service has issued a high-surf advisory for the south shores of Oahu and Maui and all shores on Niihau, Kauai, Molokai, Lanai and the Big Island.

Surf heights of 6 to 9 feet are expected today and tomorrow.
The advisory will remain in effect until 6 p.m. tomorrow.
Waves at Ala Moana Bowls were smallish early this morning, but surfers said they expected conditions to improve through the day with wave heights peaking late in the afternoon when the tide comes in.
A high-surf advisory means there is the potential for strong rip currents, and beachgoers are advised to observe any warnings from lifeguards.
