NFL: Childress has no expectations on Favre

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. — Vikings coach Brad Childress says he isn’t taking anything for granted when it comes to Brett Favre’s possible arrival in Minnesota.
Childress tells The Associated Press that he knows Favre will eventually give him an answer about playing for the Vikings this season. But the coach does not know when that will come, and he doesn’t know “whether it’s ’I’m in’ or ’I’m out.”’
Favre told the AP last week that he will make a decision by the time the Vikings report to training camp on July 30. The 39-year-old quarterback is still trying to decide if his surgically repaired throwing arm will hold up for a 19th season in the NFL.
