State Sen. Carol Fukunaga, D-11th (Makiki, Pawaça), has been named a winner of the National Coalition for Capital’s 2009 “Champion of Small Business” award.

Fukunaga and other elected officials and community leaders are being recognized for their efforts to promote economic development.
The Washington-based coalition supports economic development and job creation through access to capital for entreprenuers and emerging companies.
