Bethany Hamilton, the professional surfer from Kauai who lost an arm in a shark attack six years ago, will be a contestant on the FOX television show "Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?" at 7 p.m. Friday on KHON.

Hamilton’s opponent in the battle for a $1 million prize will be coma survivor Jill Finley.
The show, which tests adult contestants’ knowledge of a variety of subjects at the elementary school level, features help from real fifth-graders.
Comedian Jeff Foxworthy hosts.
Friday’s episode was taped earlier this year. After it airs, the show also will be available online at http://www.fox.com/fod/play.php?sh=smarter.
Hamilton, 19, is in her second year competing in the Association of Surfing Professionals World Qualifying Series. She is currently ranked 19th among women.
