Hawaii military and dependents get new behavioral health provider

Advertiser Staff

TriWest Healthcare Alliance, a provider of health care to 2.7 million military and military dependents, said it will begin using American Well’s Online Care service to deliver behavioral health services in Hawaiçi.

TriWest said the technology is being evaluated as a means to increase access to timely and appropriate care. It noted that American Well’s Online Care platform may help make behavioral health care more convenient and accessible.
It said studies have shown there are barriers to effectively delivering behavioral health care to military members returning from combat duty in Iraq and Afghanistan.
American Well said the agreement with TriWest marks the first time its Online Care technology was being used to deliver critical behavioral health services. The Boston-based company’s technology is already used in Hawaiçi by the Hawaiçi Medical Service Association.
