Honolulu's Tri Bourne had seven kills and Erik Shoji added 10 digs in the U.S. men's junior volleyball national team's 32-30, 21-25, 25-18, 30-28 victory over Belarus today in a pool play opener at the FIVB World Championships at Pune India.

The U.S. plays Tunisia in its next pool play match tomorrow.
Tony Ciarelli led Team USA with 23 points on 18 kills, four blocks and one ace.
Bourne, an outside hitter, is an Academy of the Pacific alum who plays for USC. Shoji, a libero, is a Punahou alum who plays for Stanford.
Outside hitter Brad Lawson, an ‘Iolani alum at Stanford, also is a member of the team.
Joe Kauliakamoa, who was born in Honolulu and now lives in Las Vegas, is the team's starting setter. He scored three points on one kill, one block and one ace.
The tournament runs through Aug. 9.
