Hawaii Tourism Authority approves $71M budget for FY2010
The Hawaii Tourism Authority today approved a $71 million budget for fiscal year 2010.
The budget includes $22 million for marketing Hawaii to Mainland visitors, and $7.3 million for marketing in Japan. The Hawaii Convention Center will get $6 million for its marketing efforts.
The state agency is working with falling revenues from the transient accommodations tax, more commonly referred to as the hotel-room tax. For last fiscal year, the agency had $78 million budgeted from that fund.
