A motorcyclist was killed last night in an accident in Kona.
The accident happened just after 8 p.m. on Kealakehe Parkway, about a mile above Queen Ka'ahumanu Highway.
Fire officials said the man, in his 20s, had passed a vehicle and was re-entering his lane when he lost control of the motorcycle.
The motorcycle slammed into a curb and crashed, the fire department said. The man died at the scene.
It was the second fatal traffic accident on the Big Island this week.
On Sunday, Thomas Reimer and his son, Thomas Jr., were killed when the motorcycle they were on collided with a car in Pahoa.
