WAILEA, Hawaii — The Maui Film Festival will honor country legend Willie Nelson and actress Zooey Deschanel at its event this month.

The festival, which celebrates its 10th anniversary, says Nelson will receive the Maverick Award for his support of artistic and political freedoms. Deschanel will get the Nova Award for her acting ability.
The festival runs June 17 to 21 at the Wailea Resort and the Maui & Arts & Cultural Center in Kahului.
