Kapolei Library offers summer fun for all ages

Kapolei Public Library is offering several free programs for the entire family to enjoy throughout the summer.

The scheduled events include:

• June - August: Keiki Storytimes — Apart from story reading, Keiki Storytimes will also include finger-puppet shows, songs and craft making. They will be held from June through August. Events to take place every Thursday and Saturday at 10 a.m. except on holidays and special program days, no registration necessary.

• June 15 – July 18: The Annual Children, Teen and Adult Summer Reading Program — Registration is necessary.

• June 13: “A Woman’s Guide to Money Matters” — A presentation by financial planner Paul Berardo that will address issues such as options for paying your child’s or grandchild’s education expenses, preparing for retirement, and how to develop a strategy to achieve financial goals. This presentation is will be on at 10:30 a.m. registration is necessary.

• June 27: “How to Prepare for a Disaster” — With hurricane season in full swing, Tom Thompson, inventor of multiple hurricane and earthquake protection products, will inform the audience on how to plan for and protect your family in the event of an earthquake or hurricane. This presentation will take place on at 10:30 a.m.

• July 1: “The Discovery of New Planets” — A presentation by solar system ambassador Gregory McCartney. Learn about the new planets that have been discovered outside of our solar system. This presentation will take place at 6:30 p.m.

• July 15: Kapolei Library Book Club — Adults are invited to attend the book club’s organizational meeting at 6:30 p.m.

All programs and special events are free. Special accommodations and language interpreters must be reserved at least two weeks in advance. For reservations and other information contact the Kapolei Public Library at 693-7050.
