Officer’s handgun, rifle stolen from vehicle

Police this afternoon issued an all-points-bulletin after someone broke into a police officer’s car in Kailua and stole two of the officer’s guns and ammunition.
The off-duty officer’s subsidized vehicle was in a parking structure on Aulike Street when someone broke into it between 2 and 3 p.m. Honolulu Police spokesman Maj. Frank Fujii said the items taken included the officer’s department issued handgun, rifle, ammunition, holster, and identification card.
The incident is under investigation.
Police did not have a description of the suspect or suspects involved in the case. Anyone with information about this case should call 911 or CrimeStoppers at 955-8300.
