UHH to double its recycling

Advertiser Staff

The University of Hawai'i-Hilo will begin a mixed recycling program on July 1 that is expected to more than double the campus' weekly recyclable collection total.

The college's newly established Sustainability Committee estimates it will divert at least 94 cubic yards of waste from the county landfill each week.

To participate in UHH's sustainability efforts, contact Vice Chancellor Debra Fitzsimons at 974-7750 or debra.fitzsimons@hawaii.edu.

For information on the recycling program, contact Kolin Kettleson at 974-7369 or kolin@hawaii.edu.
