Hawaii Public Radio presents Rolando Sanchez and Salsa Hawaii at the Atherton Performing Arts Studio on June 20.

Rolando Sanchez had been performing in Hawaii since 1989, but this is his debut performance at the Atherton. Rolando Sanchez and Salsa Hawaii will perform to songs from his CDs and there will be a special dance presentation by Jo Jo and Greg the Salsa Man.

The band has performed in a plethora of places including Japan, Korea, Hawaii, and Tahiti and their recordings have reached audiences in over 52 countries and one of the Hawaii's leading Latin-Jazz-Salsa bands. Their music has also been heard both on the television soundtracks and on the big screen.

The group also has a CD in production. It will feature all original songs, and one written by accomplished Nicaraguan musician Enrique Sanchez, Rolando’s father.

General admission to the performance is $25, HPR member admission is $20, and students with a valid ID pay $15. For reservations call 955-8821.
