Looking for July 1959 issue of Ebony magazine and other artifacts

Advertiser Staff

The African American Diversity Cultural Center Hawaiçi (AADCCH) is looking for artifacts owned by African Americans who are connected to Hawaii and the Pacific Islands. Depending on the item, the artifact might be displayed to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Statehood.

Most importantly, AADCCH are in search of the July 1959 issue of Ebony Magazine. The issue focuses on blacks living in Hawaii at the time and highlighted the Nolle Smith family.

The AADCCH was established in 1997 as a museum to document 200 years of African history in Hawaii. The organization displays artifacts that include documents, photographs, artwork, muumuus and church robes.
