MLB: Indians pitcher Reyes has surgery, expected to miss 12-18 months

CLEVELAND — Cleveland Indians pitcher Anthony Reyes is expected to miss 12 to 18 months after having surgery on his right elbow.
He had his ulnar collateral ligament reconstructed during a three-hour procedure performed by Dr. Lewis Yocum in Anaheim, Calif., on Friday.
Reyes had elbow problems last year, but began this season in the Indians’ rotation. He left his start on May 22 because the elbow was bothering him. He was 1-1 with a 6.57 ERA in eight starts.
He is one of seven Cleveland players on the disabled list, including pitchers Jake Westbrook, Rafael Betancourt, Aaron Laffey and Scott Lewis, outfielder Grady Sizemore and infielder Asdrubal Cabrera.
