Boy-bander Jared Murillo stoked to play in birthplace

Hawaii-born Jared Murillo has danced in “High School Musical,” and now he’s singing in a Billboard chart-climbing band that will perform at the 50th State Fair tomorrow.
“I am really excited,” said Murillo, who moved from Läçie to Mapleton, Utah, when he was 6. “It was fun to perform in Utah, and it’s a shocker to perform in Hawaiçi, the place where I was born.”
Murillo’s boy band, V Factory, has been around since 2006 and performs a mix of pop, R&B and urban music.
Admission to the fair is $5, free for children shorter than 40 inches, and the performance is free.
