Triathlon: Past winners taste victory again at Va. triathlon

RICHMOND, Va. — South African Conrad Stoltz and Canadian Melanie McQuaid have won the XTERRA Atlantic Cup annual triathlon in Richmond.
The 35-year-old men's winner overcame a cut on his foot to win his fourth race in five attempts in Richmond. The 35-year-old McQuaid won for her second year in a row, and third Richmond victory altogether.
McQuaid led throughout her race, while Stoltz overcame a cut on his foot shortly before the start of the event.
Stoltz and McQuaid each received $1,800.
The Atlantic Cup is the fifth of eight XTERRA Cup championship races that culminate Sept. 26 for the national championship in Utah.
