The Japanese Cultural Center of Hawaii will start a new weekly talk-story community forum that will air on Radio Station KZOO (1210 AM).

“Thinking Out Loud: Talking Issues, Taking Action,” will be hosted by George Tanabe and Christine Yano, both professors at the University of Hawaii at Manoa.

The forum will encourage listeners to call in with questions and comments, and the show would be dedicated to brainstorming and problem-solving local issues of concern to the Japanese American community and beyond.

The program will air on Mondays from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., with the first show about exploring the origins of bon dance and its present relevance in the community.

“We are very grateful to be partnering with KZOO, Christine, and George on this radio program. We hope to spark dialogue on important issues that are relevant to our community” said Lenny Yajima Andrew, JCCH president and executive director.
