More than 1,000 Bank of Hawaii employees took part in a charity walk that raised $105,000 for the Hawaii Red Cross, Family Promise of Hawaii and the Salvation Army Hawaiian and Pacific Islands Division.
Due to the current economic climate, this year’s walk focused on three local organizations that provide food, shelter and basic necessities to individuals and families in Hawaii.
Following the 1.8-mile walk, Bank of Hawaii Chairman and CEO Al Landon and Charitable Foundation President Donna Tanoue presented a $105,000 check to Hawaii Red Cross CEO Coralie Matayoshi, Family Promise Executive Director Kent Anderson, and Salvation Army Divisional Commander Major Edward Hill.
Each organization will receive $35,000.
