NBA: Timberwolves waiting on Rubio

MINNEAPOLIS — While NBA executives across the league try to pry Spanish sensation Ricky Rubio away from the Minnesota Timberwolves, team president David Kahn is in no hurry to deal.
One of the biggest reasons many believe Rubio is available is also the biggest reason why Kahn can wait. The Timberwolves chose another point guard in Jonny Flynn one pick after Rubio fell into their lap on draft night.
The sudden depth at the position means Kahn can afford to let Rubio stay in Spain for another season if the 18-year-old cannot negotiate a reasonable buyout of his contract with DKV Joventut.
For now, the league’s newest executive says he is content to let Rubio’s contract situation play out before he makes any decision.
