BYUH edges Chaminade, 97-94

Jet Chang scored 32 points as nationally No. 3-ranked Brigham Young-Hawai'i held off Chaminade, 97-94, last night at McCabe Gym in a hotly contested nonconference men's basketball game that saw both teams play with depleted rosters.
Pacific West Conference commissioner Bob Hogue declared that three Chaminade players and two BYUH players would have to sit out the game because of an altercation that occurred between the teams in Friday night's game.
Lucas Alves added 18 points, Anthony Reilly and Nathans Sims had 13 apiece and Jermaine Odjegba added 10 for the Seasiders, who improved to 23-1.
Noah Gottlieb scored 25 points, Joel Smith added 24, Mohamed Tangara had 22 and Rickey Clayborn contributed 17 points and 10 rebounds for the Silverswords (14-11).
Chaminade dressed six players and played the final 10 minutes with five after Darrell Birton fouled out. Gottlieb fouled out later, leaving the Silverswords to play 4-on-5 the rest of the game.
WILY PROPELS BYUH
Latoya Wily had 22 points and 13 rebounds as Brigham Young-Hawai'i beat Chaminade, 68-45, last night in a nonconference women's basketball game at McCabe Gym.
Agnes Tuilevuka and Mahina Gago added 10 points apiece for the Seasiders (14-12), who gave up the game's first basket before scoring the next 12 points to seize control.
Wily shot 10 of 15 from the field in just 26 minutes.
Samantha Saito scored 18 points and Jasmine Dulan added 12 for the Silverswords, who fell to 0-25.
