Marshall's husband endorses aide Anderson as council successor

Cliff Ziems, left, husband of the late Barbara Marshall, today endorsed J. Ikaika Anderson to succeed Marshall on the city council. A mail-in special election will be held next month to find a replacement for Marshall, who died last month. Marshall represented Windward Oahu.

Cliff Ziems, husband of the late Barbara Marshall, today endorsed J. Ikaika Anderson to succeed Marshall on the city council.

Marshall, who represented Windward Oahu, died of cancer last month at the age of 64.

Anderson, 31, was a longtime aide to Marshall.

The city will conduct a mail-in special election to replace Marshall next month.

Other candidates who have filed for the seat are Paul Akau, John Henry Felix, Wilson Ho, Steve Holmes, Leona Kalima, Keoki Leong and Thomas Pico.
