NBA: Timberwolves' Foye leaves game with leg injury

Associated Press

MINNEAPOLIS — Minnesota guard Randy Foye was carried to the locker room Monday night in the fourth quarter of the Timberwolves' game against Washington because of a sprained right ankle.

Foye tried to leap to catch a high lob pass from Mike Miller on a two-on-one and crumpled when the pass sailed over his arms. He immediately grabbed his right ankle, but there was no immediate word whether he would miss any time.

Losing Foye for any stretch would be devastating for a Timberwolves team that already is without star center Al Jefferson, who was lost just before the All-Star break with a torn ACL.

Foye is the team's second-leading scorer, averaging 16.9 points.
