Hawaii weather: Scattered showers likely today

The unsettled weather will remain over most of the state for a couple more days before it drifts eastward and clears the islands by Wednesday night, the National Weather Service said.

A cold front is expected to move down the island chain from the north Thursday and Friday accompanied by some showers, forecasters said.

Here's how the middle of the week is shaping up:

Today: Scattered showers, mainly after noon. Partly cloudy, with a high near 79. Breezy, with a northeast wind between 17 and 21 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Tonight: Scattered showers, mainly after midnight. Partly cloudy, with a low around 67. East wind around 17 mph, with gusts as high as 22 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Wednesday: Isolated showers before noon. Partly cloudy, with a high near 81. East wind between 14 and 17 mph, with gusts as high as 22 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Wednesday Night: Isolated showers. Partly cloudy, with a low around 67. North wind around 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Thursday: Scattered showers after noon. Partly cloudy, with a high near 78. North wind between 15 and 17 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Thursday Night: Scattered showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 64. North wind around 17 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
