NFL: Chiefs reach deal with CB Daniels

Associated Press

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Kansas City Chiefs have come to terms with free agent cornerback Travis Daniels, who played at Cleveland last year.

The 6-foot-1, 195-pound Daniels began his NFL career as a fourth-round draft pick for Miami, where he played from 2005 to 2007 before going to the Browns. He has started 26 games and had 126 tackles, three interceptions and two fumble recoveries.

A native of Hollywood, Fla., Daniels was a two-year starter at LSU, where he was teammates with Chiefs wide receiver Dwayne Bowe and center Rudy Niswanger on the 2003 BCS championship team.

Terms of the contract were not announced Tuesday.
