UH men hoops fall to Fresno State in WAC tourney

Dwight O'Neil hit a go-ahead jumper with 22 seconds left and then Fresno State added three free throws in the final 10 seconds today to defeat Hawaii, 62-58, in the Western Athletic Conference Tournament men's basketball game in Reno, Nev.
Bill Amis hit a free throw with 57 seconds left to put UH up 58-57.
Fresno State missed a 3-pointer but scrambled for the rebound, setting up O'Neil's winning shot that put the Bulldogs up 59-58.
Kareem Nitoto was then called for an offensive foul and Mychal Ladd added two free throws with 10 seconds left to put Fresno State up 61-58. After a missed 3, Fresno State added another free throw with seconds left.
UH led 57-52 with about a minute and a half left to play but could not hold on.
UH finished its season 13-17 overall and 5-12 in WAC play.
