First Hawaiian Bank parent ranked 8th safest bank globally

BNP Paribas, the parent of First Hawaiian Bank, ranked 8th on Global Finance magazine's recently published list of the "World's 50 Safest Banks 2009."
The list was compiled using a comparison of the long-term credit ratings and total assets of the 500 largest banks around the world, according to Global Finance magazine. The magazine used Credit ratings from Moody's, Standard & Poor's and Fitch.

First Hawaiian Bank with $13 billion in assets, is the state's largest bank when ranked by assets.
