CFB: Plancher family sues Central Florida over wide receiver's death
Associated Press
ORLANDO, Fla. — The family of fallen Central Florida freshman wide receiver Erek Plancher has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the Orlando university.
Planchers' parents, Enock and Giselle Plancher, are seeking damages in excess of $15,000, not including interest, costs and attorney's fees.
Plancher, a 19-year-old from Naples, died a year ago after an offseason conditioning workout on the University of Central Florida campus. The workout was supervised by Coach George O'Leary and his staff.
The university has repeatedly defended its response to Plancher's collapse and death.
