Want to learn which risk factors are controllable for ACL injuries? Which tests can help determine your risk for an ACL injury? What exercises can help you prevent such an injury?

JACO Rehab will discuss the ACL injury and known risk factors in young athletes from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. today at the Honolulu Club.

A panel will present a plan to reduce the frequency of injury, starting with testing of neuromuscular risk factors in the female athletes between the ages of 14-18. According to statistics, high school female athletes have a one in 100 chance and college female athletes have a one in 10 chance of suffering an ACL injury. Also, more than 50 percent who suffer the injury are between the ages of 15 to 25.
