Man dies after falling overboard, being pulled from Maunalua Bay

A man died today after he fell overboard from a vessel in Maunalua Bay and was pulled from the water by Honolulu Fire Department rescue crews.
HFD Capt. Robert Main said the call came in at 8:20 a.m., and rescue watercraft, Air 1 and Rescue 1 found the man between buoys 1 and 2 and pulled him from the water at 9:05.
The man initially was in critical condition, and personnel took him ashore and performed CPR. Emergency Medical Services personnel took him to Straub Hospital.
EMS spokesman Bryan Cheplic said the man was pronounced dead. He said the man appeared to be in his 60s.
The fire department is investigating the case.
