The inaugural Lavaman Keauhou triathlon will be held Sept. 13 on the Big Island.
The event will be run by Hawai'i Sports Connection, which also produces the annual Lavaman Waikoloa triathlon, and Keauhou Resort.
The Keauhou race is an Olympic distance 1.5-kilometer swim, 40-kilometer bike and 10-kilometer run that will have elite and age-group divisions, and relay teams.
The event includes an expo and family activities, including a "LavaKids Dash" for youths 7 and younger.

GIRLS WHO SURF CLINIC
Girls Who Surf will offer its monthly clinic, 3 to 5 p.m., March 28 at either Ala Moana Beach Park or Kapolei.
Group lessons include a 30-minute warmup and safety instruction and 90 minutes of surf time.
Participants can try different board sizes, receive advice on equipment and learn about the latest surf news.

'KIDS' FLAG FOOTBALL
Kama'aina Kids has formed a youth flag football league for boys and girls ages 5 to 12.
Registration is under way and ends April 24. Ages are: under-6, 8, 10, 12. Games will be played Sundays at Ala Pu'umalu Community Park in Salt Lake, May 3 to June 28.
A free two-day clinic, on April 19 and 26, will be conducted by Elite Sports Academy staff.
