Two community Easter services are scheduled:
The speaker will be the Rev. Dennis Takata, pastor of Grace Community Church.
Other sponsoring churches are Hawaii Kai Community Church, Hope Chapel Hawaii Kai and Hawaii Kai United Church of Christ.
Lawn chairs or mats are suggested.

'BUDDHAHOOD' CLASS STARTS APRIL 2
Free classes on the book "The Way to Buddhahood" — an overview of Buddhist practice from entry level to "buddhahood" — will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Thursdays, beginning April 2, at the Tzu Chi Foundation, 1238 Wilhelmina Rise.
The book was written by Buddhist scholar Yin Shun, who died in Taiwan in 2005, at age 100. The course will be taught by Wing H. Yeung, English translator of the book.

HOLY TRINITY MASS ESPECIALLY FOR ILL
Holy Trinity Catholic Church will celebrate a Charismatic Mass at 7 p.m. March 25, with sacramental anointing of the sick for those who are seriously ill.
Especially invited to the service are those Catholics with cancer or other life-threatening illnesses. Prayers will also be offered for those who need blessing for strength and healing.

SEE 'THE CROSS' BEGINNING FRIDAY
A movie of Arthur Blessitt's life, "The Cross," will be shown locally beginning Friday at Dole Cannery Stadium 18 Theatres.
The movie — like the similarly named book — tells of the 40-year journey of Blessitt, who carried a 12-foot wooden cross on foot into 315 countries, 52 of them at war." Several times he faced imprisonment and possible death.
His visit to Hawai'i in 1976 necessitated sawing the cross in half to pass airline baggage requirements.

'ECO-FAITH' HITS BOOKSTORES IN APRIL
The book, "Eco-Faith: Creating and Sustaining Green Congregations," by local private practice clinical psychologist, Charlene Hosenfeld, will be released in April.
The book is a user-friendly guide for pastors, church leaders, congregations and individuals who want to work on environmental issues. It will be "an integration of current ecological research, religious thought and psychological perspectives, and offer a list of valuable books, Web sites and other research.
