The Miami Dolphins have traded center Samson Satele to the Oakland Raiders, the Dolphins Web site confirmed today.

Satele, a Kailua High and University of Hawai'i alum, was drafted in the second round by the Dolphins in 2007.

The 24-year-old Satele, who is 6 feet 3 and 300 pounds, started all 32 games for Miami the past two seasons.

The Miami Herald reported last night the move confirms the Dolphins' desire to transition newly signed center Jake Grove into the starting job.

The San Francisco Chronicle reported on its Web site today the Raiders gave up their sixth-round pick in April's draft to acquire Satele, citing a league source familiar with the deal.

The teams also swapped fourth-round picks, dropping the Raiders from the eighth pick of that round to 26th.
