Haleiwa Farmers Market to open
A new Sunday morning farmers market will open in Haleiwa April 5.
In true North Shore free-style fashion, it has no address, just:"the traffic signal at Old Kamehameha Highway and Bypass Road." This "green" market encourages shoppers to BYOB — bring your own shopping bag. The market is intended to be solar-powered and plastic-free .
Planners say there will be more than 40 vendors, music, food for sale.
Monthly festivals are planned along with a Talk Story Cafe and arts and crafts for kids.
Sponsors include Kamehameha Schools, the Sustainability Associate of Hawaii, Solar Professionals and Lenox Metal LLC.
