An 18-year-old Lawa'i man died in a one-car crash early yesterday morning in Kekaha, and his passenger suffered serious injuries and was flown to The Queen's Medical Center on O'ahu, Kaua'i police said.
The passenger — described as a female juvenile — was in stable condition yesterday at the hospital.
According to a police report, Max Agor was east-bound on Kaumuali'i Highway near St. Theresa's Church at about 1:12 a.m. when he lost control of his Toyota pickup truck, went onto the east-bound shoulder and flipped over several times.
Agor and the girl were thrown from the vehicle and landed on boulders by the highway, police said.
Agor was pronounced dead at Kaua'i Veterans Memorial Hospital.
Speed and alcohol may have been factors, police said.
