Kaua'i High graduate Miki Ueoka grabbed her third collegiate win Tuesday, capturing the Sacramento State Invitational with a final-round 71, for a 146 total. The Santa Clara sophomore was the only golfer to break par in the final round and helped the Broncos win by six shots over host Sacramento State.

"It feels great," Ueoka said on the Santa Clara Web site. "I was really glad I was able to keep up my level of play. As a team, we posted really good scores and I hope we can carry this momentum into the WCC Championships."

Ueoka also won the Bronco Fall Invitational in October and the Fresno State Lexus Classic last month. The four-time KIF champion was February's West Coast Conference Player of the month. She is in the process of declaring a bio-chemistry major with the hopes of becoming a doctor.

Freshman teammate Tammy Surtees, from Waikoloa, tied for ninth for her first top-10 finish.

Ueoka was ranked 122nd in the Golfweek/Sagarin Performance Index coming into the week. UCLA freshman Stephanie Kono (Punahou) has moved up to third and Mari Chun (Kamehameha), a senior on Stanford's 21st-ranked team, is 46th. Waiakea graduate Amanda Wilson is 123rd, playing for 24th-ranked Arizona.

Kono was named GolfWorld national player of the week after winning the UCF Challenge March 10. She leads the second-ranked Bruins in scoring average (71.4), rounds under 70 (5) and top-20 finishes (7).
