Auto racing: Rain washed out Cup practice at Martinsville

MARTINSVILLE, Va. — A steady drizzle and intermittent showers has washed out NASCAR Sprint Cup Series practice at Martinsville Speedway.
The rain also threatened to postpone the Camping World Truck Series race until Monday. The track does not have lights for night racing, and the Cup race is slated to be run Sunday.
The light drizzle Saturday morning did not prevent the truck series from holding qualifying, but after Rick Crawford won the pole for the Kroger 250, the rain increased in intensity.
Efforts to dry the track to hold the race as scheduled were continuing.
