GREENEVILLE, Tenn. — Coach Bruce Pearl has another reason to stay at Tennessee — he's gotten engaged.
The 49-year-old coach revealed the secret during a Big Orange Caravan coaches' tour through East Tennessee on Monday.
Telling fans he wants to remain at Tennessee, Pearl introduced his fiance Brandy Miller during a stop in her hometown of Sevierville by saying, "If you think I'm leaving that for Memphis, you're crazy."
Pearl was linked to Memphis in April as a replacement for John Calipari. He ended up with a new six-year contract with Tennessee.
Pearl says he and Miller became engaged last week. They haven't set a wedding date.
Pearl's ex-wife likes Tennessee, too. Since their divorce last year, Kim Shrigley's opened a successful beauty salon in Knoxville called "Alimony's."
