A town hall meeting is being held from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. today for the A&E series "The Recovery Project," a grassroots movement dealing with drug addiction, support and recovery.
The meeting will be at Word of Life and is open to the public. Seating is available for 1,600 and people are urged to arrive early because of the show taping.
Duane "Dog" Chapman and Beth Chapman of the A&E hit reality series "Dog the Bounty Hunter" will be on the panel, as will Jeff VanVonderen, of A&E's Emmy-nominated "Intervention." Rounding out the five-person panel are Alan Johnson, Chief Executive Officer of Hina Mauka, one of the largest drug and alcohol treatment centers in Hawaii with over 23 sites; and Delorese Malulani Gregoire, Founding Director of Winners Camp, and one of the Camp's head facilitators.
Mayor Mufi Hanneman will give the welcome address.
