Hawai'i is on the road again, as it takes on St. Mary's in a non-conference game at noon today in Moraga, Calif.

The game will be broadcast on ESPN 1420 AM, this time by its own play-by-play man Don Robbs. The station aired Arizona State's and New Mexico State's broadcasts on the previous road trip.

The Rainbows (26-20) will try to snap a five-game losing streak en route to their Western Athletic Conference regular-season series finale starting Thursday at Fresno State. Both teams are fighting for a spot in the conference tournament. Hawai'i (9-10) is 1 1/2 games in front of the Bulldogs (6-10). Only 3 1/2 games separate first from seventh place. Six teams make the tournament.

Hawai'i was just swept in a four-game series at home against the hottest team in the conference in Louisiana Tech, which has a league-best six-game winning streak. Fresno State split its four-game series with Nevada, which is in sole possession of first in the conference.

The Gaels (27-23) lost 2 of 3 to Gonzaga in a West Coast Conference series over the weekend in Spokane, Wash. They are 12-11 against common opponents of UH, which is 13-7. They are led by freshman infielder Troy Channing, who leads the team with 19 homers and 70 RBIs.

St. Mary's was picked to finish seventh in the eight-team WCC.

Kevin Macdonald leads UH with 12 homers and 52 RBIs. Kolten Wong leads the team in batting (.354), doubles (17) and steals (9). Wong, Vinnie Catricala (.349) and Ryan Morford (.308) are the only Rainbows batting over .300.
