LIKE ABBA, ONLY MORE FABULOUS!
The jukebox musical sensation "Mamma Mia!" takes over the Blaisdell Concert Hall for a three-week engagement starting Tuesday.
Based on the songs of ABBA, and written by ABBA members Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus, the stage musical tells the story of a single, carefree mother whose daughter wants her biological father to give her away at her upcoming wedding. The catch: She doesn't know her father, and her mother has his identity narrowed down to three very different men. And then the search begins.
Cue music! "Mamma Mia!" has been on Broadway for six sold-out years. (Check out Wayne Harada's take on the musical on page 38.)
