NFL: Jaguars waive Woods, acquire Brackenridge

Associated Press

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Jaguars have waived receiver D’Juan Woods and acquired cornerback Tyron Brackenridge off waivers.

Woods, signed as a rookie free agent out of Oklahoma State in 2007, spent parts of the last two seasons on Jacksonville’s practice squad. He played in one game, but became expendable when the team signed free agent Torry Holt and selected three receivers in last month’s NFL draft.
Also Wednesday, the Jaguars were awarded Brackenridge off waivers from the New York Jets.
Signed by Kansas City as an undrafted rookie in 2007, the 5-foot-11, 189-pound Brackenridge played in 14 games with the Chiefs the past two seasons. He had 20 tackles and two forced fumbles. He signed with the Jets on Feb. 19 and was waived Tuesday.
