2 arrested in pellet gun shooting spree
Police arrested two men Friday night following a pellet gun shooting spree from Mililani to Wahiawa that left at least two people injured and a number of windows damaged.
The two men, ages 20 and 21, were arrested at Mango Street and Kilani Avenue in Wahiawa shortly after 9 p.m. on suspicion of assault, reckless endangerment and criminal property damage, according to a police report.
Police at the Wahiawa station said one woman was taken to a hospital with a pellet in her chest. Her condition was not known. A man was struck in the hand with a pellet, police said. At least seven people were shot at but it was not clear how many had been hit, police said.
BIG ISLAND DIVER IN CRITICAL CONDITION
A 59-year-old diver was in critical condition at Hilo Medical Center yesterday afternoon after being rescued in rough surf near Laupahoehoe Point on the Big Island.
According to the Hawai'i Fire Department, the man was diving with friends when he began to struggle in rough surf. His friends got him to nearby rocks and initiated CPR.
An HFD helicopter transported the man to shore, where he was then taken to Hilo Medical Center.
