A 63-year-old Princeville man was injured yesterday morning when he lost control of a utility truck he was driving.

According to Kauai police, the man was traveling south on Kuhio Highway near Keälia Kai about 9:30 a.m. when he swerved to avoid a vehicle that was slowing down in front of him, causing the truck to hydroplane and spin out of control.

The truck hit an embankment and flipped onto its roof in the northbound lane, police said.

The man suffered nonlife-threatening injuries and was taken to Wilcox Memorial Hospital.
